Just one selection yesterday brings the first losing day of the challenge. Just a single selection in the 14:10 at Folkstone drops the betting bank to £103.75. A lay bet of the 2.5 favourite HeartSong in a 4 horse race proved incorrect and stakes will now be reduced for the next betting day.

With today being Good Friday we have no selections but of course being a bank holiday there is loads of football to get stuck into. The next challenge selection to come tomorrow.

Ok ladys and gentlemen it is time for the first results post. The flat season is underway and so is my our progress. I am going to try and post every day but was unavailable yesterday so the first two days of the challenge will be shown in this post. In the opening two days of the challenge I have made 4 bets of which 3 have won resulting in a profit of +£22.06. That is a great start increasing the opening bank by 22% in just 2 days.

Stakes will be increased again tomorrow so hopefully the great start will continue. Below I have taken a screen shot of my betting P&L since the start of this challenge. Please ignore any profit (or losses for that matter) on any other sports. This challenge is soley horse racing.

I have always been fancinated by betting. Predicting the future and placing a wager to back up your beliefs. With almost a decade of sports betting experience I have decided to put myself to the test. I have made my profit over the years using an array of staking plans depending on the sport but have never run a long term challenge. At the turn of the year I decided that in 2012 I would give this ago. Not wanting to jump in head first I wanted to run a trial for a couple of months to ensure that the material I release on this site will be a success.

With this week marking the start of the flat season in the racing I am going to begin my conquest today, Tuesday 3rd of April 2012. The rules are simple. I am going to set aside a £100 betting bank for this and over the course of the next 9 month I am looking to turn this into a whopping £100,000 using a number of selections each day. This sounds like a tall order but the trail run from January through to March results in profits of over £15,000.

Each day I will post my progress on this blog and give an insight into the world of professional gambling.
